🦎 Kanyana Keepers: Reptiles | A Half-Day Wildlife Experience for Ages 11–14.Get ready for an exciting, hands-on afternoon with some of Perth’s most intriguing reptiles! In this 3.5-hour experience (1:00pm–4:30pm), participants will explore reptile behaviours, adaptations, and the basics of reptile care:
🐍 Meet Our Reptile Ambassadors, which may include:
- Bobtail lizards
- Blue-tongue skinks
- Pythons
- Freshwater turtles

Students will discover how different reptiles move, hunt, communicate, and adapt to Western Australia’s changing seasons and habitats.
🦎 Keeper Skills & Hands-On Learning! Participants will:
- Learn the fundamentals of reptile care at Kanyana
- Explore biofacts like skins, skulls and eggs to understand reptile anatomy
- Keeper tasks such as preparing safe food items and basic enclosure checks
- Observe reptile behaviours and write important observation notes
- Create a reptile-inspired craft & enrichment item for our reptiles!
🧢 What to Bring:

- Enclosed shoes (required for safety)
Safety & Supervision:
The program is fully supervised by trained Kanyana staff and Program Leaders, each holding a Working With Children Check and First Aid certification. This is a drop-off program — parents do not need to stay onsite.
Please arrive 15 minutes early for sign-in so the adventure can begin on time!
