🦘 Kanyana Keepers: Mammals | A Half-Day Wildlife Experience for Ages 11–14.Discover the world of our furry native mammals in this 3.5-hour afternoon program (1:00pm–4:30pm) designed for curious and animal-loving young teens.
🐾 Meet Our Mammal Ambassadors, which may include:
- Bilbies
- Possums
- Echidnas
- Bettongs
- Woylies
…and more!
Participants will investigate how mammals move, forage, communicate, and stay safe in their natural habitats.
🐨 Keeper Skills & Hands-On Learning! Participants will:
- Learn the foundations of mammal care and how we look after different species at Kanyana
- Explore mammal biofacts such as fur, quills, skulls to understand their anatomy and behaviour
- Try keeper tasks like preparing their dinner and helping with enclosure checks
- Observe natural mammal behaviours up-close and discuss what they might tell us
- Create a mammal-inspired craft and enrichment item
🧢 What to Bring:
- Afternoon tea
- Water bottle
- Enclosed shoes (required for safety)
Safety & Supervision:
Fully supervised by trained Kanyana staff and Program Leaders with WWCC and First Aid. This is a drop-off program — parents do not need to stay onsite.
Please arrive 15 minutes early for sign-in so the adventure can begin on time!
