Kwinana Youth for Change
Join Barking Gecko Arts for 2 weeks of creative exploration. Learn new skills via immersion in storytelling, performing, devising and digital media. This process driven project allows participants to learn through trial, error and experimentation creating a project as unique as each participant! Tell your story, your way.
Lead by Barking Gecko Arts Teaching artists, Luke Jospeh Ryan and Xavier Michelides the 2 weeks will surely be filled with fun, spontaneity and endless creativity.
Luke Joseph Ryan is an experienced artist, comedian, actor, musician, improviser and professional idiot (his words). As a teaching artist, he has worked in numerous schools and communities for Barking Gecko Arts, both in the metro area and regional WA. Making Zombie films with kids in Kalgoorlie, collaborative visual art projects in Wiluna, writing songs at Bentley, Luke loves helping kids explore their creativity and find their voice through arts practice.
Xavier Michelides is a talented and experienced actor, writer, producer and comedian. As a teaching Artist he has worked with the Melbourne International Comedy festival for over ten years, with their class clowns program focusing on comedy, stand -up writing, play building and improvisation.
