James Dekleva in Recital — The Wanderer Fantasy (MELBOURNE)
About
Following a successful solo tour of Australia’s eastern states and Singapore, concert pianist James Dekleva returns and is joined by Isaac Davis, Associate Principal Cellist of the Queensland Symphony Orchestra, for their second recital together.
This program explores the striking contrast between historical rarity and raw, symphonic power. Experience the elegance of Schubert’s Arpeggione Sonata, a lyrical masterpiece originally composed for a now-obsolete six-string instrument, here reimagined on the four strings of the cello, followed by two of Dvořák’s Slavonic Dances.
The evening culminates in the explosive drama of Beethoven’s Sonata for Piano and Cello in G minor.
