About the facilitator:
Jane Dixon is a warm and collaborative provisional psychologist who works with children, adolescents, adults, and families to help them better understand themselves and navigate life’s difficulties with confidence and care. She has completed the final placement of her Master of Psychology (Educational and Developmental) at Australian Catholic University and is awaiting her full registration.
Formerly a primary school teacher, and with over 15 years of experience in education, Jane brings a deep understanding of child development to her work. She has worked in both school and private clinic settings, providing individual therapy and conducting cognitive and educational assessments.
Jane supports clients navigating a range of experiences, including anxiety, low mood, learning differences, school difficulties, identity development, social and emotional concerns, and grief and loss. She offers neuro-affirming, gender-affirming, and culturally responsive care, with a focus on creating a safe, inclusive, and validating therapeutic space.
Her approach draws on evidence-based frameworks such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and strengths-based practice. Jane tailors her work to each person’s developmental stage and unique needs, and often incorporates creative, play-based, and narrative techniques—particularly when working with children and adolescents—to support engagement and growth.
