ONSITE FARSI Class Series: 27 Jan & 10 Feb 2026, 12pm-2.30pm
About
This 2-part group education course is for first time parents, whose first language is FARSI and are birthing their baby at Mercy Hospital for Women, Heidelberg.Both sessions are held onsite at Mercy Hospital for Women, Heidelberg and aim to provide you and your support person with professional childbirth education.
Our midwifery educators, alongside a FARSI interpreter, will provide information on a variety of topics such as:
- Labour stages & signs
- Coming to hospital
- The importance of support in labour - what can they do!
- Coping with labour at home & in the hospital (including medical options)
- When assistance is required for labour & birthing
- Understanding breastfeeding
- The early weeks with a newborn (safe sleeping, settling)
- Recovery post birth
- Supports in hospital & community for the new family
Times: 12pm - 2.30pm
Sessions: Tuesday 27 January 2026 & Tuesday 10 February 2026.
Onsite at Mercy Hospital for Women, 163 Studley Rd, Heidelberg
Please Note:
- 1 ticket is for 2 people (Birthing parent +1 support person) to attend both classes.
- Places are limited, so plan to start your classes when you will be around 27-34 weeks. Classes fill quickly so don't delay.
- Please ensure you use the pregnant person's name when you book
- You must provide your Mercy Hospital for Women (Heidelberg) Medical Record Number to book in. We will check that you are booked in to have your baby at MHW.
- You will receive a confirmation email from Trybooking once you have booked.
Payments & Refunds
- Each family is eligible for ONE ticket only. This includes the pregnant person + 1 support person.
Medicare card ticket - FREE - when pregnant person:
- is booked to birth as a public patient at MHW
- has a valid Medicare card (or eligible for reciprocal rights)
No Medicare card ticket - $220 when pregnant person
- is booked to birth as a private patient at Mercy Hospital for Women
Cancelling / Rescheduling
- If you need to reschedule your class, please CANCEL your booking on the TRYBOOKING site, then rebook into another course. PLEASE ensure you cancel to enable someone else to take the spot.
- If you can't make one of the booked sessions we are unable to offer a 'make-up' class for the one you miss. We are able to provide further written resources.
