This program will help you recognise and respond to sexual behaviours in children and young people. It explores typical sexual development, the continuum of sexual behaviours, and distinguishing between behaviours that are healthy, concerning, or harmful. Learn about factors that influence these behaviours such as trauma, attachment, and exposure to violence or pornography and develop response strategies. We also cover policies, procedures and responding to disclosures and engaging with local supports.Learning Outcomes:
Understand sexual development and behaviours, and distinguish between healthy, concerning, and harmful behaviours.
Analyse factors influencing behaviours, including trauma, attachment, family violence, and exposure to pornography, while identifying risk and protective factors.
Apply policies, procedures, and support networks to develop strategies for responding to sexual behaviours and managing incidents.
