Accelerate! Strings 2026
About
Accelerate! Strings is UWA’s elite training program designed for Violin, Viola, Cello and Double Bass players in years 10-12 who are looking to take their performance skills to the next level.
Participants will work closely with Shaun Lee-Chen, Concertmaster of the Australian Brandenburg Orchestra, and acclaimed educator and cellist Dr Suzanne Wijsman.
The program includes workshops and masterclasses with expert, individualised feedback on performance, technique and general musicianship, plus opportunities to attend the ATAR Music Bootcamp and the WA Day of Strings. It’s ideal for students undertaking ATAR Music or preparing for university auditions who want guidance from leading practitioners.
Places are strictly limited and entry is via application and recorded audition.
Application Deadline: 23 March 2026
Audition Process: Applicants should submit a recorded audition, with 2 contrasting pieces (no more than 3 minutes each), plus a one-page CV with musical achievements, school, current teacher, approximate AMEB level. Please email your audition and supporting documents to concerts@uwa.edu.au
