Join artist Joolie Gibbs for a free morning of plein air drawing at beautiful Victory Heights Park.Inspired by Joolie’s drawings of wildflowers and towering trees, this relaxed outdoor session invites you to slow down, look closely, and explore nature through sketching and frottage (rubbings).
Joolie has been drawing most of her life, and loves sharing simple, practical tips that help others discover the joy of drawing outdoors. All ages and skill levels are welcome.
This is a free event, but registrations are preferred so we can plan for numbers.

Victory Heights Park
Meet at the shelter closest to the carpark on Bath Terrace.
Participants please bring:
- Paper and clipboard or a sketchbook
- Drawing materials of your choice (pencil, charcoal, ink, pastels etc.)
- Hat, sunscreen and insect repellent
- Water
- Camp chair
- Any additional materials you like to use when drawing outdoors
- Umbrella or raincoat for wet weather
While every effort is made to provide a safe and supportive environment, participants attend at their own risk. Please take care when moving around the site, especially on uneven ground. Please keep your personal items with you. The Gallery and facilitators cannot accept responsibility for lost or damaged belongings.
