Mahalia Barnes has been in and around music her entire life. Throughout her childhood years she was exposed to everything from Ray Charles, Otis Redding, Wilson Pickett to Tina Turner, Aretha Franklin, Donny Hathaway and Stevie Wonder, all of which helped shape her into the powerhouse soul and blues vocalist that has jaws dropping every time she picks up a mic. Mahalia and her band, The Soul Mates, have released three albums (including 'Ooh Yea! - The Betty Davis Songbook' with Joe Bonamassa) and consistently play to capacity crowds around the country.

In addition to her solo projects, she has performed on various international tours with Bruce Springsteen, The Roots, Mavis Staples, Bryan Adams and Tom Jones. 2025 has seen Mahalia playing the role of Mary in Jesus Christ Superstar.

This show sees Mahalia performing original songs plus the music that has shaped her life and music career. Be prepared to be blown away with the breadth and power of her voice and music and the depth of her musical knowledge.

Supporting Mahalia Barnes and the Soul Mates are Amin & Lachlan- an exciting Adelaide-based act blending old school blues with a unique modern flare and energy. They are the first regularly gigging act to come out of the Adelaide Roots & Blues Association's Youth in Blues program, and are taking their show to venues throughout Australia.

Amin Slee's passion for the Blues is evident in his masterful vocals, harmonica and slide guitar, while guitarist Lachlan Sullivan provides strong backing with his guitar and stomp box that honours Blues and folk traditions.

Trinity Sessions is a fully reserved seating concert style venue where the focus is on the music and respect for the artists and the audience, with bar facilities pre-show and interval. The bar is not open during the performances. Trinity Sessions sells a range of beer, wine, cider, soft drinks and small snacks. No BYO drinks allowed and no BYO food allowed into the concert space.
