2026 Maths Olympiad Competition (Junior Division)

Central Coast Homeschoolers now have a Maths Olympiad Junior Division Team approved!This is the first time APSMO, which runs the Australian Maths Olympiad, has ever allowed a team of homeschoolers to compete. I'm a homeschool parent on the coast and a registered teacher, and we're looking for any Year 5 or 6 child who would like to participate in the Maths Olympiad to sign up!
We need at least 10 students and can accommodate up to 100 at the venue.
Although the Maths Olympiad is aimed toward students with an aptitude and an attitude for mathematics, we're keen to provide an inclusive opportunity for every eligible homeschooler on the Central Coast to participate. The only limitation is that children must be in Year 5 or Year 6 as per school ages.
There are team and individual awards available, and participation should be a rewarding experience for everyone. We want a fun and uplifting experience for every child!
I'm the assigned PICO (Person in Charge of Olympiad), but as I'm not mathematical myself, I'd encourage those of you in our homeschool community who are mathematically inclined to contribute to preparing the students. I'm happy to facilitate communication and organisation should people wish to set up workshops.
The registration fee covers the APSMO participation fee and the cost of hiring the venue. You only need to buy one ticket per child. THE COST OF ONE TICKET COVERS REGISTRATION FOR ALL FOUR ROUNDS. The total cost of participation per child is $40.

The Junior Division Olympiad (Division J) is an inter-school competition that has been specifically designed to stimulate and challenge high potential and high achieving students in Years 5 and 6.
It provides an opportunity for students from around Australia and New Zealand to compete as part of a team while striving for individual excellence. It is a prestigious and highly regarded competition that has been running in Australia since 1987.

**WE NEED A QUORUM OF 10 STUDENTS TO RUN THE EVENT. IF WE UNEXPECTEDLY DON'T REACH THE QUORUM, ALL TICKET PURCHASES WILL BE REFUNDED.
