This series of 4 spaced online professional learning sessions will be facilitated by Michael Minas; founder of Love Maths.Session 1: 24th February 1:30-3:30pm
Session 2: 24th March 1:30-3:30pm
Session 3: 12th May 1:30-3:30pm
Session 4: 16th June 1:30-3:30pm
The content of these sessions will include:
1. Develop common understandings of how mathematics is planned for and taught within a lesson, over a week, over a unit of work
2. Exploring cognitive load/working memory
3. What does effective retrieval practice look like and how do you plan for it within your lessons?
4. Strategies for engaging students in their learning
5. What does the research say?
Learning Outcomes:
To impact on teacher practice through planning for and teaching engaging Mathematical learning experiences informed by researched best practices.
