Sing Dance Act - 2 Day Intensive - School Holiday Workshop

 
Working with experienced professionals, students will experience all the different aspects of singing, acting and dancing in this two-day workshop. Children will be taught in a fun and dynamic environment
A small performance for parents & friends to enjoy will be shown in the afternoon on the last day .

Miss Alana - Director/Head Teacher

Alana De Roma is a true 'Triple Threat' in show business, excelling as a singer, dancer, and actress. With over 27 years of industry experience, she has trained at renowned schools including The McDonald College School of Performing Arts, Brent Street Studios, and Janice Breen Performance Studios.

At the young age of seven, Alana starred in her first feature film, 'Amy.' Her mature acting style and unique on-screen presence garnered critical acclaim, earning her Best Actress awards in Italy and Canada. She was also nominated alongside Nicole Kidman, Toni Collette, and Rachel Griffiths for Australia's Top Ten Best Actress Awards at the People's Choice Awards.

Alana's vocal talents caught the attention of Festival/Mushroom Records, leading to a recording contract. She released the single 'Ain't no Sunshine' and the soundtrack for 'Amy.' Recognised for her individuality, Alana was contracted with Disney to record 'Part of your World' for the re-release of the beloved film, The Little Mermaid. Her work also extended to Japan, Korea, and Singapore.

In musical theatre, Alana has performed in various productions, including Cameron Mackintosh's 'Oliver,' where she portrayed 'Bet.' She has also appeared in Aladdin and numerous corporate and variety shows. As a soloist singer, she graced the stage at the NSW Government's 'Premiers Concert,' touring regional Australia.

Alana's career highlights include sharing the stage with Michael Jackson during his Sydney Concert. Her television appearances include The Midday Show, The Aria Music Awards, the AFI Awards, Today Tonight, Saturday Disney, Carols in the Domain, and Cheez TV. Additionally, she has starred in short films and TV commercials aired in Australia.

Alana's artistic ventures extend to writing, producing, and starring in her own Cabaret show, 'From Then To Now,' featured in the Sydney sideshow festival. In 2014, she established the successful ADVC Performance Studio in Drummoyne, Sydney, providing innovative and creative singing, dancing, and acting classes.

Alana's remarkable journey as an artist and mentor provides the experience and knowledge to ignite creativity and inspire authenticity, to nurture aspiring artists to embrace their voices and leave a mark on the world.

Miss Ash 

Ashley Waterman is a Sydney-based actress, singer, and dedicated mentor with nearly 27 years of performing experience. She trained at the prestigious Queensland Conservatorium of Music, earning a Bachelor of Musical Theatre, and has further honed her craft at several esteemed institutions in Australia and overseas.

Ashley’s performing journey began at three when she trained in various dance styles, including jazz, tap, ballet, and musical theatre. She was soon captivated by singing and acting, paving the way for a flourishing career in music and the performing arts.

In 2018, after years of travelling to the US to build connections, Ashley was scouted in LA and released her debut single 'Too Late'. The track soared to number 17 on the Billboard Dance Charts and climbed to number two on Billboard’s Breakout Chart.

Following the success of Too Late, Ashley released Bad, which was featured on Home and Away, and Hello, which became a pivotal moment in her career. Her sound, described as 'dark pop with a bit of punk,' blends fearless, honest lyrics with dynamic influences from artists like Billie Eilish and Avril Lavigne.

Beyond her accomplishments on stage, Ashley has over 10 years of teaching experience, working with students aged 4 and up. She provides private vocal coaching, group singing instruction, musical theatre training, and performance development. Her teaching has taken her across the Gold Coast, Brisbane, and Sydney, where she has been inspiring young performers.

Ashley's background as a professional performer gives her students invaluable insights into the demands of the entertainment industry. She understands the importance of fostering both technical skill and personal growth, creating a nurturing environment where students can thrive. Her experience balancing her artistic career with academic pursuits, including her current Bachelor of Psychology (Honours) studies, demonstrates her commitment to personal development and resilience.

Ashley’s mission is to encourage young performers to dream big, work hard, and find joy in the creative journey. With her extensive experience and passion for nurturing young talent, she continues to be a dynamic and influential figure in the arts education community.

 

Miss Josie 

Josie grew up in Dubbo, NSW, studying her Cert III and IV in Dance at Dubbo Ballet Studio. She then moved interstate to study the Diploma of
Music Theatre at WAAPA and then a Bachelor of Music Theatre at the Elder Conservatorium in Adelaide, graduating in 2023. 
Since graduating, Josie has worked in both Company Management and as a performer. She toured with the Miss Saigon International Tour as
the Assistant Company Manager in 2023/24. Most recently, she has completed a contract with Brainstorm Productions, delivering educational performances across NSW. 

 

Miss Angelina 

 

Angelina is an energetic and passionate dance educator with a Bachelor of Musical Theatre from the Queensland Conservatorium Griffith University. Experienced in teaching a wide range of dance styles across respected institutions including the Conservatorium itself, C5 Dance Studio, and Chapmans Dance Academy. Proven ability to nurture students’ artistic growth while instilling strong technique, discipline, and a love for performance. Versatile choreographer and skilled communicator, committed to creating a positive and inspiring learning environment for students of all ages and abilities. You might know her from Home and Away, and she also has an incredible list of theatre credits under her belt, including:

 Mr Lachlan

Lachlan’s professional career includes TV Series with children’s entertainment group Hi-5, touring Nationally and Internationally. Theatre performances include; Hamilton the Musical on its Australia & New Zealand Tour, International Tour and on the return Sydney season in 2024-25 playing ‘Samuel Seabury’. Lachlan made his Musical Theatre debut with Saturday Night Fever in 2019, and starred as ‘Jack’ in Bonnie Lythgoe’s pantomime, Jack and the Beanstalk. In 2020 and 2022, Lachlan played the role of ‘Mike’ in A Chorus Line. Lachlan trained in all facets of performing arts from age of 4. At 14, Lachlan won Young Talent Time with a boys crew and at 16 he was a finalist on Australia’s Got Talent. Lachlan has appeared in guest roles on television, various TVC’s and performed as a commercial dancer on The Voice and Australia’s Got Talent

 

Miss Rylee

Rylee Vormelker is a professionally trained dancer and Brent Street graduate, holding a Diploma of Dance from the Full-Time Training Program. Throughout her training, she gained performance experience across stage and screen, with credits including Eurovision: Australia Decides and The Voice Australia (2021-2022) alongside girl group G-Nat!on, as well as various corporate performances interstate/internarionally. She has worked with respected industry choreographers Cassie Bartho, Mitchell Woodcock, and Marko Panzic, and is passionate about growth, performance, and bringing strong energy and professionalism to every room. 

 

Mr Max

Max made his professional debut at the age of 11, playing Jeremy Potts in the Sydney season of Chitty Chitty Bang Bang (TML Enterprises). Recent credits include: The Witches of Eastwick (Neglected Musicals), La Traviata (Opera Australia), La Cage aux Folles (Showtune Productions), and a 10-month dancer contract with Royal Caribbean International. Max is a graduate of the Elder Conservatorium of Music and NIDA, and is very excited to be teaching at ADVC’s school holiday workshop this week!

The workshop will only go ahead if 10 or more students are enrolled.

No refunds will be given if your child is unable to attend the workshop on the day.
Your place in the workshop is only secured once full payment is made online
Parents and students understand that no child can leave the venue for lunch. All students will need to bring a packed lunch/drink on the day.
Children are left in the care of ADVC Performance Studio and guest teachers for the duration of the workshop.
Parents MUST be available for drop off and pick up, at the allocated times.
No parent is allowed to watch the workshop.
Parents will only be invited to watch the performance at the end of the workshop.
Please note that any photographs/video recordings taken in the course of classes or performances may be used for publicity purposes
including the ADVC website/Facebook Page / Instagram Page.
