The ICU Renal study day provides an introduction to Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy in the ICU. This study is recommended for junior medical staff, recently qualified CCRNs and CCRNs new to the ICU to enrol and complete this study day. The study day content will be delivered using interactive lectures, small group work and hands-on practice with CRRT equipment. This study day provides ICU medical and nursing staff with the essential knowledge to manage CRRT in the ICU.Topics covered in the Study Day include:
Overview of Acute Kidney Injury in the ICU patient group
Review of Principles of CRRT
Anticoagulation Options for CRRT
Priming CRRT
Troubleshooting common alarm issues
