In the lead-up to the Melbourne International Comedy Festival, you can catch two of Australia's most exciting comic voices live at the Basin Theatre.David Rose was born in Upper Ferntree Gully, grew up in Olinda, and has since toured as a stand-up comedian across 4 continents. His work has appeared on ABC TV, The Guardian and Radio National, and clips of his stand-up have over 50 million views online. He's a local voice with international appeal. His 2025 Melbourne Comedy Festival sold out multiple times, and he's preparing for his biggest festival yet in 2026.
Simon Taylor is one of Australia's most prolific comedians, with appearances on the ABC, 10 and Netflix. He's also the only Australian comedian to have performed on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon. Simon is the creator of two books, two children, and millions of views on the popular online sketch show, Unawarehouse.
