Support Worker 101 – NDIS Admin Basics
About
Support Worker Admin BasicsThe NDIS paperwork you’re expected to know (but no one explains)
Starting as a support worker can be overwhelming, especially when you’re handed NDIS paperwork with little or no explanation.
This session is run by Allan from Strong Foundation Support. I’ve worked in the NDIS for seven years across support work, coordination, recovery coaching, and mentoring. Everything in this session is based on real shifts, real clients, and real paperwork.
This session is designed for new and early-career support workers who want to understand what’s expected of them before things go wrong.
By the end of this session, you will:
Understand the key documents you’re expected to work with
Know what you should and should not be doing
Feel more confident starting shifts without second-guessing yourself
This session covers:
1. Service Agreements
What they are, what you’re agreeing to, and why they matter.
2. Intake Forms
Why this information is collected and how it helps you understand the participant before your first shift.
3. Progress Notes
What to write after each shift, how to write them properly, and how clear notes protect both you and the participant.
4. NDIS-compliant invoices
What invoices must include, how supports should be listed, and how to avoid payment delays caused by simple errors.
What you’ll receive:
1. A service agreement example
2. A intake form template
3. A beginner-friendly progress note template you can use straight away
This session is practical, plain language, and focused on helping you avoid stress, confusion, and common mistakes early on.
If you can’t attend live, the session will be recorded.
