The Julia Creek Dirt n Dust Festival is one of Queensland’s most iconic outback events, held each year in the small and remote town of Julia Creek. Over one massive weekend, more than 3,000 visitors roll into a community of just 400 people to experience three days of pure outback spirit — from adrenaline-charged races and bull rides to live music, rodeo action, comedy events and the famous Australia’s Best Butt competition.
With family-friendly entertainment, the DnD Adventure Run, Fashions on the Field, kids’ activities and non-stop country hospitality, the festival brings together adventurers, locals, and travellers from across Australia.
In 2026, we proudly celebrate the festival’s 30-year anniversary — honouring the history, community, and unmistakable energy that make Dirt n Dust the ultimate outback experience.
