Accidental Counsellor Training
About
Teachers often find themselves supporting students in distress - sometimes unexpectedly. While they are not trained counsellors, having the right skills can make a significant difference in these moments.
We are offering Accidental Counsellor Training, an online accredited program designed for people like school staff with practical strategies to respond effectively and confidently when students need emotional support.
This workshop will help your staff:
✔ Use active listening techniques to help students feel heard
✔ Apply effective communication strategies in high-stress situations
✔ Provide basic crisis intervention tools for emotional distress
✔ Set healthy boundaries to protect their own wellbeing
✔ Use de-escalation techniques to manage difficult conversations
✔ Build trust and rapport quickly in moments of need
CONTINUING PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT (CPD) POINTS
You may be eligible to claim CPD points upon completion of this course. However, requirements vary, so please confirm with your relevant professional body before making a claim.
