Salvatore Lanzetti was an Italian cello virtuoso whose works had largely been forgotten until modern times. Brilliantly virtuosic, and yet cellistic, his style contributed to several developments in cello technique, and his cello sonatas are revered today as some of the great baroque masterworks for cello.
