EMPHN - Mindframe Training
About
Mindframe is a national program supporting safe media reporting and public communication, portrayal and communication about suicide, mental health concerns and alcohol and other drugs (AOD).The aim of this session is to encourage participants to feel comfortable and confident when communicating about suicide, mental health concerns and AOD, whilst also ensuring that we are protecting community members who may be experiencing distress.
This training is appropriate for individuals that work in community settings or organisations that provide support within the local community and are looking to build skills to safely discuss suicide and offer appropriate support.
The training will cover:
• A brief overview of the evidence behind the Mindframe program
• The Mindframe guidelines (in-depth)
• Examples of problematic and preferred communication
• Information about help-seeking and self-care
• Opportunity for Q&A
This is a free workshop made possible through funding received from the Federal Government.
