Safety Planning
About
In this workshop, we’ll revise how to weave elements of the DST within CARE and simultaneously attend to the pain of the help seeker while gathering information about the person’s level of immediate safety risk. Based on the severity of the safety risk, to which column of the DST is used to explore the suicidal thoughts of a help seeker to uncover the severity (frequency, duration, and ambivalence), any means (lethality, how detailed is the plan, any preparation already undertaken and history of attempts) and listening for hope to develop a safety plan. In addition, review how best to work with the CISS team to support the help-seekerLocation
