Hamlet the Loneliest
About
Hamlet the Loneliest is like a part 2 of the 2009 smash hit sensation, Tom the Loneliest, by Julian Crotti and Duncan Luke.Hitting the stage in June 2026 at Slingsby’s Hall of Possibility, this new work by No Strings explores mental health, psychosis, and human frailty, mixed with the classic Shakespearean themes of revenge, madness, and tragedy.
No Strings understands the frustration of being overlooked and dismissed for performing arts opportunities on the basis of disability, not due to a lack of talent. This project places mental illness and the fragility of mental health in the spotlight. The more that disability, in all its forms, is authentically represented on stage, the more disability is understood
Mental health continues to grow, but is not often represented on stage, in contemporary Australian works written by people living with mental health challenges and performed by people living with mental health issues. This project raises the challenge, presenting a new work created with and by people living with disability and mental health, on stage.
This project builds on the past success from this creative team, this time adding more No Strings actors to the ensemble and drawing from the classic tale of murder and vengeance, we watch as chaotic creativity unravels before our very eyes.
