About
Japanese excitement machine BUDDHADATTA return to Australia early in 2026, touring nationally with the release of their debut full length vinyl LPIf you have seen Buddhadatta on stage you will be aware of their reverence for Buddhism by what they wear onstage and the topics of their songs, inspired by practising, throat-singing Buddhist monk / band leader, Vogli Bonze. Bass player Seiko engages almost the entirety of the audience with constant eye contact as she swathes her samurai bass. Drummer Takami, sits up back: cool, calm holding the strong, loud beat that he has perfected from his years in legendary Japanese underground bands.
Together, they are a smile on the face, move the body, life affirming experience that is so welcome in our lives.
With their debut full length vinyl album, Buddhadatta has committed 9 well honed and well loved songs from their live set onto tape in the studio. As such this is almost a greatest hits package, from a band that we are all just beginning to fully discover!
