Join us for a special screening of the movie the CHORAL at the Capri Theatre in Goodwood. (Rated MA 15+)The movie is set in Yorkshire against the backdrop of WW1. It follows the stirring events of a local Choral Society as the male members enlist in World War 1, leaving the demanding Dr. Guthrie (played by Ralph Fiennes) to recruit teenagers.
Together, they experience the joy of singing while the young boys grapple with their impending conscription into the army.
This is a stirring movie that celebrates music, community, and the power of voices coming together and is fundraiser event to enable the Adelaide Philharmonia Chorus to continue to share music and joy throughout the year with you.
We are also hosting a 'quality' second-hand book sale in the foyer. The movie screens at 4.40 pm and the foyer will be open at 4 pm. All books are $5 and cash is preferred. We thank you in advance for supporting our choir.
