The Swinburne Open March Blitz is a fast-paced knockout chess tournament held at the Hawthorn Hotel, right outside Glenferrie Station. Open to students and the public, the event features a 128-player blitz knockout, a Losers Division for eliminated players, and a fun pub atmosphere. Prizes include $200 for the Champion, $100 for Runner-up, and a steak and drinks for THE BIGGEST LOSER (of march).
