Join AMPS Research, CSIRO and Pinnacle Agriculture to explore the opportunities and constraints of crop rotations on the Liverpool Plains and how profitability is affected by changes to cropping intensity. This workshop will unpack the opportunities and challenges crop selection and double cropping and support growers and advisors to make confident, well framed rotation decisions.TOPICS:
• Explore how crop rotations and cropping intensity affect profitability and risk on the Liverpool Plains. Including, the opportunities and challenges of summer crops and double cropping, and how soil water thresholds can be used to improve the outcomes of cropping decisions (AMPS Research)
• Crop rotation case studies and practical tips to maximise the returns and rotation benefits from rotation and double cropping opportunities. Discussion will include transitioning out of summer crops, fallow and soil water management, logistics and handling unfavourable seasons (Pinnacle Agriculture)
• A hands on decision health check to help participants understand their decision process and identify opportunities to improve confidence and outcomes in future rotation choices (CSIRO)
