An Evening with Gemma Sisia
Gemma Sisia and the inspirational story of the School of St Jude.
Gemma will be giving a presentation at Tuggeranong Uniting on Thursday 12 March at 7.30pm.
Founded by Australian humanitarian Gemma Sisia in 2002, The School of St Jude is one of the largest charity schools in Africa, providing 1,800 free primary and secondary scholarships every year. What began with just three children has grown to three schools employing 300+ Tanzanian staff and partnering with more than 300 local suppliers.
Thanks to the support of everyday Australians, the school not only provides education but plays a significant role improving economic, social and health outcomes for families.
Gemma and a graduate of the school, Faith Samwel, is visiting Canberra to share firsthand the incredible impact the school and the Australians who support it, has had on students, the local community and Tanzania.
Tea and coffee and a light refreshment will be available.
