New umpire registration 2026 (SOLD OUT)
Our Beginner Umpire Program is open to new umpires aged 14 years old as of the first on-court session (20 February 2026) who are part of the Waverley District community.
Before you complete this registration, please ensure you will be available for the program you are registering for:
Beginner Umpire Assessment.
The umpire assessment morning will be held on Sunday, 15 February, commencing at 9:00 am (until 11:30 am at the WDNA courts). A parent is to attend between 9 am to 9:30 am for the information session and 11.15 am to 11:30 am as we wrap up the session.
From the registered participants in each umpire assessment morning, a maximum of 10 will be selected to commence the next program. If you are unsuccessful, we will provide feedback and some tips to prepare you for the next intake.
If you are successful in gaining a position, you will be required to commit to and attend:
- One three-hour theory session between 5:30 pm and 8:30 pm on Friday, 20 February.
- Off-court education sessions each Saturday morning, when the competition is held for at least eight consecutive weeks (while at a beginner/Light Blue level)
You will also need to complete the Rules in Netball Theory exam and email your results to umpires@wdna.com.au before week one (1st off-court session). This theory exam is available on Netball Connect https://learning.netball.com.au/:
As umpires develop at their own pace, our course is designed to cater to this. Week nine onwards will still include morning off-court sessions and umpiring.
Please wear a white top and cap or visor and bring sunscreen. You will need a whistle for the assessment session. These are available from our shop at https://www.wdna.com.au/product-category/umpires/
