About
Join us for a festive orange-themed day in the Illawarra! We celebrate Kings Day, with traditional Dutch games, a Flea market, music, and a relaxed BYO picnic in the beautiful Illawarra Rhododendron & Rainforest Gardens. The Vrijmarkt (Flea Market)
Koningsdag is famous for its vrijmarkt (literally “free market”). A nationwide Dutch tradition where people sell, swap, or give away their pre-loved items, similar to a relaxed community garage sale. We invite everyone to take part in our Koningsdag vrijmarkt by bringing along your own used goods, especially Dutch items such as books, toys, games, or memorabilia. Simply bring a picnic rug to display your items and feel free to sell, trade, barter, or even gift them to a new home. It’s informal, fun, and very much in the spirit of Koningsdag.
The event itself is free but a $5 pp garden entry fee applies (children are free). Payment can be made at the gate (cash or bank transfer).
On-site parking is available at the venue.
