African Soul Drumming Workshop
About
Join Bortier Okoe from African Soul for a hands on rhythm drumming workshop. This interactive session will involve drumming, dance, storytelling and learning some call and response rhythms and songs.Bortier Okoe is a man whose passion for music and culture has reached far and wide. From establishing groups like African Soul in Australia to fostering the next generation of drummers and dancers, Bortier is a symbol of inspiration.
Bortier teaches us that music is more than just sounds and beats. It's about connection, understanding, and embracing a piece of the world that might be new to us. It's about realising that an instrument like the drum can be a powerful tool for change and enrichment. Drumming is a unifying phenomenon that enables us to connect with one other and has the innate ability to get people involved.
No matter what your gender, race, age, ability or disability, drumming is a fantastic way to keep mentally and physically healthy. Drumming is an accessible tool, brings joy and happiness into people's lives and most importantly it's great fun!
