They’re tired. They’re tired of making everyone food. They’re tired of cleaning up. They’re tired of shopping. They’re tired of carrying the groceries to the car. They’re tired of putting money in their kid’s accounts. They’re tired of being told they’re too fat, or too thin, or too wrinkly or too old. They’re tired of being judged. They’re tired of not being listened to.
Thats what drives Cranky Women and comedians Mandy Nolan who are coming together to present The Cranky Womans’ Comedy Club in at Bellingen Memorial Hall on 12 June and and Coffs Golf Club on 13 June.
‘Cranky women have so much to say’ says 58 year old Nolan, mother of 5 and comedian of 40 years. ‘They’ve survived growing up in a patriarchy. They’ve survived childbirth and motherhood and marriage. They’ve also survived being judged for choosing none of those things!’
Mandy Nolan is a Cranky Woman. She’s made a living out of it. One half of touring comedy sensation Women Like Us, a political candidate, an author of 5 books and a proud member of the CWA - Mandy Nolan tells it like it is. It’s what makes her so funny and why Australian Stage declared ‘Mandy can make a rock laugh.’ She can’t. But she’ll give it a go.
Jackie Loeb has been a fixture on the global stand-up comedy landscape since she exploded onto the scene in 1992. Described as ‘gobsmackingly excellent’ by publications across the galaxy, Jackie has maintained her reputation as one of today's most hilarious and gifted stand-up comedians. Jackie was the recipient of the prestigious MO Award for Achievement of Excellence in Live Comedy.
Jackie Loeb's one-woman show Jackie Loeb Sings The Worst Songs Ever Written played to rave reviews and sold out at the Sydney Comedy Festival and was nominated for the Best Comedy Award at the Hollywood Fringe Festival. This accolade has opened the door to many more performances in the USA, including appearances at the Hollywood Improv, The Laugh Factory, The Comedy Store, The Icehouse in Pasadena and The Comedy Palace in San Diego.
Jackie should be famous. So should Mandy. If they were men they’d have their own netflix series. Instead, they’re coming to a stage near you!
