Helping Grown-Ups Hold Kids' Big Feelings
About
The live online workshop,' Helping Grown-ups Hold Kids' Big Feelings,' will provide you with practical guidance on working with parents and carers. You will learn how to support grown-ups to create nurturing environments for children and promote emotional awareness and regulation. The HOLDS model will provide a framework for regulating in sessions, and we'll explore how you can also support parents to use this model. Grounded in polyvagal theory, with a strong focus on co-regulation, this workshop helps you to build essential clinical skills.

PRESENTERS
Creative Child Therapy Workshops' founders, Dr Fiona Zandt and Dr Suzanne Barrett, are both experienced Clinical Psychologists who work exclusively with children, adolescents, and families. Fiona and Suzanne's style is prescriptive, drawing on a number of theoretical approaches, depending on what is most relevant for the children and families they work with. Their developmental approach is strongly influenced by their training in, and many years of using, cognitive behavioural therapy with children. A systemic family focus also guides their understanding of children and families and permeates their therapy. In addition, they draw on concepts and interventions from ACT, DBT and narrative therapy. Fiona is also a Registered Play Therapist and Registered Play Therapy Supervisor who loves to share playful activities that help children and families understand and explore therapeutic concepts. They have published the highly regarded Creative Ways series of books for therapists.
