Kyudo Introductory Course - Session 1 (February 2026) (SOLD OUT)
About
This introductory course is held over 5 sessions over 4 consecutive weeks, designed to introduce the basics of Kyudo to anyone who is interested – no experience required!Kyudo is more than just shooting with a bow and arrow, which will be explored over the duration of the introductory course. The course is $140 for 1 online session and 4 in-person sessions and are designed for you to 'come-and-try' Kyudo, where you will be taken through areas such as the basic movements, fundamental postures, rituals and the eight stages of shooting. You will be able to experience shooting an arrow, though not at full draw due to safety reasons, by the end of the first session.
If you would like to continue on your Kyudo journey with us, you must be present for all sessions to complete the course.
The Kyudo Introductory course runs over the following 5 classes:
- Saturday, 7 February 10:00AM - 11:30AM (Online)
- Sunday, 8 February 10:00AM - 1:00PM (In-person)
- Sunday, 15 February 10:00AM - 1:00PM (In-person)
- Sunday, 22 February 10:00AM - 1:00PM (In-person)
- Sunday, 1 March10:00AM - 1:00PM (In-person)
For in-person sessions:
- Please arrive before 9:45AM for registration on the first Sunday. For subsequent Sunday, please arrive between 9:00AM and 9:45AM to help set up if able. Session start at 10:00AM sharp.
- No equipment or uniform is required for the introductory course, just attend in comfortable clothes and pants such as standard exercise attire that won't restrict your movements, and socks you don't mind being dirtied (we'll be doing a bit of footwork in socks).
- Any clothing should not be too loose or otherwise able to cause a safety obstruction in the shooting.
- Jewellery that may present a safety hazard such as rings, necklaces, earrings, bracelets, watches, etc should not be worn or should be taken off before the session starts. If the jewellery is not able to be removed, it should be otherwise secured under bandages, tape, or similar. Hair should be neatly tied up or clipped.
Please noted that the event:
- Minimum age 18;
- Only 20 places are available;
- Once a session is attended, the course fee is not refundable; and
- Tickets are limited to 2 per booking transaction.
