Welcome to Pride Film Club, the biggest monthly queer movie experience in Melbourne!Every month we show an iconic LGBTQIA+ movie, with discussions before and after the film. It's like a book club, but for movies!
We'll even give you the opportunity to act out your favourite scenes on stage or say your favourite line into the microphone, so come prepared for your Hollywood moment if you're an adventurous type.
September: Head On (1998). The film tells the story of Ari, a dissolute 19-year-old in Melbourne, caught between his conservative Greek background and modern Australia, amid his homosexual desire.
October: The Rocky Horror Picture Show (1975). The iconic musical horror comedy! A rain-soaked couple take refuge in the castle of a cross-dressing mad scientist from outer space who is about to unveil his greatest creation.
November: Bound (1996). Violet (Jennifer Tilly) longs to escape her relationship with her mobster boyfriend and enters into a clandestine affair with alluring ex-convict Corky (Gina Gershon). The two women hatch a scheme to steal $2 million of Mafia money.
December: Pitch Perfect (2012). Beca, a college freshman, reluctantly joins a ragtag all-girls acappella group, as they compete against rival groups and seek their redemption after a disastrous year.
Doors open 6:30pm, with the fun stuff starting around 7:15pm!
