Back to School Ready
About
Strategies and support for reducing anxiety and meltdowns for a smooth(er) transition back to school. This is also appropriate for children who are starting school for the first time. The back-to-school transition can be tough. Anxiety, tricky behaviours, difficult drop-offs, before and/or after school meltdowns, disrupted sleep, and even school refusal are more common than most parents realise. These reactions are often signs your child’s nervous system is overwhelmed by the change of routine, and the unknown that comes with starting the new year.
Whether it’s your child’s first year or fifth, the transition can feel big for them and for you.
In this webinar, we’ll cover:
- What can contribute to school-related anxiety and meltdowns
- Practical ways to reduce anxiety leading up to and during the transition.
- How to support big feelings as they arise.
- Strategies to create smoother, more supported mornings, drop-offs, and after-school times
You’ll leave with a better understanding of what’s driving your child’s responses and tools to help make the transition feel more manageable for the whole family.
This webinar will be run by child mental health occupational therapist, Emilie Grima.
