About
Koonung Bushwalking Club uses TryBooking as the preferred method to renew club membership. It allows you to pay your membership fees and complete your Acknowledgement of Risks and Obligations of Members in one process without having to complete a paper-based form or make a bank transfer. Payment on the TryBooking site may be made by credit card or PayPal. Note that TryBooking charges a $0.50 processing fee and PayPal charges an extra 0.5% on top of the membership fee.If you would prefer to make your membership payment using a bank transfer do not use this website. Instead, complete an application for membership form which can be obtained from the treasurer or secretary and return it to the treasurer at the time of making your payment.
Steps for Paying your Membership with TryBooking
Step 1: Read the risks, and the obligations of members, as well as the terms and conditions of membership.
Step 2: Select the ticket item according to the membership type that you are renewing (note you can only process a single membership at a time).
Step 3: Confirm your name, membership type, age bracket for insurance purposes and acknowledge you accept the Acknowledgement of Risks and Obligations of Members.
Step 4: The last step is to process your payment. You will receive a confirmation email. For a credit card payment, you will need to enter your card details, name, address, home phone number and email address details. If paying by PayPal you will be re-directed to the PayPal site to set up the payment and then confirm your phone number and email address for the receipt.
Important:
1. Check to ensure your shopping cart at the top right of the screen is empty. If there is an item in the basket, empty it before proceeding.
2. Only process one membership at a time to allow the club secretary to collect data for BWV insurance requirements.
Your Obligations to the Koonung Bushwalking Club
1. At Step 3 you will be asked to confirm that a) you have read, understood and accepted the risks associated with our activities and b) you have read, understood and agreed to the terms and conditions of membership. These are outlined below. Please read this information carefully before proceeding as it outlines the responsibilities and obligations of your membership. By clicking the box to accept the obligations you are signing the document.
Note: In the following, “Club” refers to the Koonung Bushwalking Club Inc., and “you” and 'your' all refer to you.
Acknowledgement of Risks and Obligations of Members
I acknowledge that my voluntary participation in activities organised by the Koonung Bushwalking Club, may expose me to risks that could lead to injury, illness or death or to loss of or damage to my property. These risks include but are not limited to snake or insect bites, traversing rough ground, loose stones or rocks, scrub, fallen logs or other obstacles, slippery surfaces and creek crossings, encountering weather conditions that could lead to hypothermia or hyperthermia and being in locations where evacuation for medical treatment may take hours or days.
To minimise these risks, I will endeavour to ensure that:
1. The activity is within my capabilities.
2. I am carrying food, water and equipment appropriate for the activity
3. I will advise the activity leader if I am taking any medication or have any physical or other limitations that might adversely affect my participation in the activity.
4. I will make every effort to remain with the rest of the party during the activity.
5. I accept and respect the instructions of the leader of the activity.
6. I will advise the leader of any issues I am having. For any further concerns I will contact the committee.
7. I will comply with all reasonable instructions of club officers and the activity leader.
8. Be considerate and respect the rights of members of your party and other groups to enjoy the peace and solitude of the bush at all times.
I have read and understood these requirements and considered the risks. I wish to participate in club activities .
I also take full responsibility for my actions and acknowledge that signing this form will be deemed as full acceptance and understanding of the above conditions.
I further acknowledge that in signing this form I support the purposes of the Koonung Bushwalking Club and agree to comply with the Vic. Govt. Incorp. Rules of the Club and KBC’s Privacy Policy which can be downloaded from the front page of our website at koonungbushwalkingclub.org.au.
Terms and Conditions of Membership
By clicking on the 'BOOK NOW' button (above right) and proceeding with this process you agree…
1. to be bound by all the rules, regulations, policies and procedures of the Club for the time being in force;
2. to give consent for your personal details to be made available to authorised representatives of the club and emergency services in accordance with the club’s privacy policy; and
3. that the payment of fees will be deemed as full understanding and acceptance of all of the above.
Membership Types
Select only one of the following types by clicking on the “+” button on the right side of the same line as the membership type you are selecting. A “1” should appear in the box on the same line as your membership type.
Note: If you are a member of more than one bushwalking club, you only need to pay your insurance to one club. Therefore, if Koonung Bushwalking Club is your secondary BWV club your fees will be $30.00 as you will have already paid your insurance dues to your primary club.
