The Non-Ordinary in Body – A Poetic Prayer
A performance offering by Christine Jaroszewski and Liz Mistry
This special evening marks the birthday of Dr Serge Raynaud de la Ferrière through an embodied, artistic offering that honours the sacredness of life, nature, and inner awakening.
The Non-Ordinary in Body – A Poetic Prayer is a contemplative performance weaving dance, poetry, music, breath, and movement into a living ritual. Through their shared devotion to the arts, Christine Jaroszewski and Liz Mistry create a sacred alchemy that moves from the inward to the outward—an offering that celebrates the Holy as it expresses itself through nature and the human body.
The performance interweaves elemental forces with sound, word, and gesture, inviting the audience into a space of reflection, presence, and reverence. This is not a conventional performance, but a poetic prayer—an embodied remembrance of the non-ordinary within and around us.
Artists
Christine Jaroszewski
Christine has a 30-year background as an international Classical Ballet and Contemporary Dance performer. She lived in India for five years, where she explored interdisciplinary collaborations with Indian dancers, musicians, and actors. Her current passion lies in weaving multiple art forms—dance, music, singing, and theatre—to uncover the essential thread that unites diverse cultures in their creative expression. Christine’s work honours ancestral wisdom, traditional practices, and the elemental forces of nature as sources of healing, inspiration, and contemporary expression. She also teaches embodied meditative dance as an integrative and contemplative practice.
Liz Mistry
Liz aligns with the arts as a creative and healing expression, drawing on her background in drama studies, art therapy, spoken word, and shamanic practice. Her work uses art fusions to express deep connection—to ancestry, to others, and to the elemental dimensions of being within and without. Liz’s poetic and performative offerings arise from a place of presence, ritual, and listening to the unseen.
