Rodenburg Workshop: Voice & Shakespeare

A one-day introductory workshop to the work of the world's leading voice teacher, Patsy Rodenburg, OBE.
This workshop will be led by Patrick Klavins, a Patsy Rodenburg Associate (PRA) teacher, who is designated to teach Rodenburg's work on voice, presence, and text.
This will be an intensive session dedicated to developing the actor's craft and suitable for those who are wanting to become more proficient in acting Shakespeare.
COURSE OUTLINE
Participants will be introduced to the sequential structure of Rodenburg's voice and text work:
• Presence
• Body
• Breath
• Voice
• Speech
• Delivery
Actors will be introduced to Rodenburg’s trademarked Three Circles of Energy.
Each actor will have the opportunity to be coached on a heightened text:
Shakespeare – Monologues and Soliloquies
Actors attending the workshop will be asked to prepare a monologue or soliloquy from Shakespeare (preferably in verse). Actors will need to read the play and be familiar with their text, but it needn't be fully memorised.

LEARNING OUTCOMES
By the end of the workshop, participants will:
- Gain an experiential understanding of Rodenburg’s work on voice, presence, and text
- Learn a full, sequential voice warm-up
- Receive coaching on a Shakespeare monologue or soliloquy and discover new keys into heightened text
