Seeing Like an Artist Session 4 – Depth & Form
About
Seeing Like an ArtistSession 4 – Depth & Form
Saturday 28 March 2026
2:00 – 4:00 pm
In Session 4 of Seeing Like an Artist, we will explore shape and form, using shading to create the illusion of three-dimensional depth on flat paper. The session focuses on understanding how light, shadow, and tone work together to bring form to life.
Participants will be guided through practical techniques including blending, smudging, hatching, and block shading, with plenty of time for experimentation and personal expression.
No prior experience is needed—just the desire to see, observe, and respond. Each session stands alone, so you are welcome to join whichever session suits you. All materials will be supplied, or you may bring your own preferred tools.
Suitable for ages 16–106.
