January Tasting, Nundah Sept: Sherry Barrels 2026
About
Our first session of 2026 focuses on the specific impact of the sherry cask, pitting the dry, oxidative profile of Amontillado against the heavy, fruit-driven weight of Pedro Ximénez.
We’ll be tasting several expressions of each to compare how these different Sherry styles integrate with the spirit over time.
To round out the flight, we’ll be matching these against an Apera cask to see how the Australian fortified profile compares to the traditional Spanish wood.
So come along to dissect some high-quality cask influence and welcome in the new year.
We will be having:

• InchDairnie KinGlassie 8 Year Old Double Matured Single Malt Scotch Whisky
• Westland Sherry Wood American Single Malt Whiskey
• Bladnoch Alinta Single Malt Scotch Whisky
• Fleurieu AWAS Exclusive Australian Single Malt Whisky
While whisky is of course provided for the tasting, you are also welcome to bring your own beverages to enjoy with your meal (light meal provided).
Please make sure you bring your own glasses for the tasting, as glasses provided by the venue are limited.
