Ripples in Time Working Boats in the Early Swan River Colony
About
Join Everick Heritage and the MV Perth Restoration Project to hear the story of the Swan River (Derbal Yerrigan) as Perth's first highway, a place of work, trade, and connection that shaped the early colony. Through the stories of ferries, barges, and steamers that once filled its waters, we trace how river life sustained communities and industry, and how these vessels became enduring symbols of the city's identity. We will share the community-led project to restore the MV Perth (1914) to bring her back to the river for Perth bicentennial celebrations in 2029, when the Swan River will again take centre stage. This is a free event for anyone interested in the maritime history of Perth.Date
