About
Monash Volunteering is pleased to invite you to a practical and engaging Manual Handling training session delivered by Garry Francis‑Pester, Director of Physiotherapy & Human Movement Clinic Pty Ltd.This interactive 2‑hour workshop will equip volunteers with the knowledge and skills to reduce the risk of musculoskeletal injuries when performing manual handling tasks.
During the session, we will cover:
-Explore the ‘nature’ of manual handling and manual handling risk (hazardous manual handling).
-Gain insights into the human bodies potential predisposition to musculoskeletal injury.
-Develop an effective understanding of the array of ‘background’ factors that can potentially increase the risk of injury
-Develop and appreciation of the link between health and injury protection and further, an understanding of effective strategies to enhance health.
-Exploring volunteers specific manual handling tasks and potential subsequent controls.
-Gain an understanding of the legislative requirements pertaining to the remediation of hazardous manual handling.
