AusNet Landcare Tree Planting Event at Garfield, Fri 24 July
About
Get your hands dirty and help plant native trees, shrubs and grasses along the creek at Lovers Lane, Garfield as part of a large-scale revegetation project along the Cannibal Creek catchment to increase biodiversity and habitat for the endangered Southern Brown Bandicoot. You will be working alongside local volunteers who have been improving the the health of Cannibal Creek catchment for over 25 years!
No experience required, you will be supported by Landcare supervisors who provide a safety induction, demonstrate how to correctly plant native seedlings, and teach you about the importance of landcare in caring for our environment.
A tasty lunch is provided, along with all gloves, tools and equipment to undertake the tasks on the day.
This activity requires a moderate level of physical activity and the site may require walking over farmland.
