CELEBRATE NATIONAL TREE DAY
Step out of the office and volunteer for landcare to celebrate National Tree Day by planting native seedlings at Garfield to improve habitat connectivity and biodiversity!
National Tree Day is the nation's largest community tree-planting and nature care event, encouraging volunteers to plant native trees!
About the event & activities
You will be supporting the efforts of landcare groups and volunteers to enhance the local environment by constructing tree guards and planting native seedlings as part of a large-scale revegetation project along the Cannibal Creek catchment to increase biodiversity and habitat for the endangered Southern Brown Bandicoot. You will be working alongside local volunteers who have been improving the the health of Cannibal Creek catchment for over 25 years!
No experience necessary!
Experienced Landcare members will provide a safety briefing and toolbox talk and support you throughout the day with each task. Event support members will provide information on best-practice planting methods and share their local environmental knowledge.
This activity requires a moderate to high level of physical activity, however please contact us if you have any concerns as we can often modify things to ensure all your team can participate.

Gloves, tools and equipment required for the day
Bring a refillable water bottle, wear suitable clothing (inc. sturdy, enclosed shoes, long sleeved shirt and pants) and a hat. It’s recommended you pack wet weather gear as events will go ahead in most weather conditions.
