Join us to celebrate Landcare Week 2025 by volunteering at the Bug Rug, Sunshine West.Landcare Week is an annual celebration of landcare held during the first week of August to acknowledge the Australians who are actively restoring, enhancing and protecting the natural environment in their community.
You will be planting native flowering plants, mulching, and removing invasive weeds, whilst learning from volunteers how they are managing this urban parkland to protect and enhance habitat for native species and reducing stormwater runoff into Kororoit Creek.
No experience required, you will be supported by Landcare Supervisors who will provide an introduction to the project, give a safety induction, and demonstrate the tasks.
Lunch is provided, along with all gloves, tools and equipment to undertake the tasks on the day.
This activity requires a low to moderate level of physical activity, however please advise if you require any modifications for any injuries or disabilities. f
