AusNet Coastcare Event at Phillip Island 25th Nov
CELEBRATE COAStCARE WEEK!
Get ready for Coastcare Week by volunteering to enhance the coastlines on Phillip Island!
Coastcare Week is celebrated during the first week of December that acknowledges the Australians who are actively restoring, enhancing and protecting the natural environment in their community including Australia’s coastlines, waterways and marine environments.
About the event & activities
You will be supporting the efforts of landcare groups and volunteers to enhance Phillip Island's coastal environment, home to migratory birds including Short-tailed Shearwaters, commonly known as Muttonbirds, and the endangered Hooded Plovers that breed along the sandy beaches. You will be removing invasive weeds and litter clean up along beaches.
No experience necessary!
Experienced Landcare supervisors will provide a safety briefing and toolbox talk and support you throughout the day with each task, and will provide information on best-practice planting methods and share their local environmental knowledge.
This activity requires a moderate to high level of physical activity, however please contact us if you have any concerns as we can often modify things to ensure all your team can participate.
