Barry Wratten's New Orleans Pelicans Jazz Band
Friday 30th January at the Eltham Bowling Club
Clarinetist and vocalist Barry Wratten has had a lifelong love affair with New Orleans jazz, which has seen him play that style of music for over 40 years now – including a 16-year stint in New Orleans itself. Barry began playing jazz in Melbourne, then Sydney, before moving to New Orleans in 1982. There, he led his own Pelican Trio, Jazz Band and Brass Band.
The Pelican's personnel are:-Barry Wratten, Leader, clarinet/voc; Grant Arthur, Trombone/voc.; Eamon McNelis, trumpet/voc; John Scurry, banjo/guitar; Howard Cairns, bass; Ben Hendry, drums; David Allardice, piano.
Friday 30th January
Doors open 7:00pm, music from 7:30 to 10:30 pm.
Tickets: Standard Ticket Price $25, includes nibbles, tea and coffee.
