Bring your energy to Pride March on 1 Feb!
About
EnergyAustralia has registered to march in Pride March on 1 February, as part of Melbourne’s annual Midsumma Festival. Join Prism and allies as we proudly march for LGBTQA+ solidarity and pride in diversity. Plus, this year is Prism's ten year anniversary so what better way to march into 2026!
Important:
Wave and Arrival Time
We are marching in Wave Q which is for organisations and political representatives
You must be at Ian Johnson Oval by 11.20am sharp on the day.
Look out for our new marching banner which looks like this and come join the crew! You'll be provided with an official wrist band when you arrive.
Public transport is definitely your best bet as there will be street closures throughout the area.
Wear: A hat and sunscreen and comfortable shoes. (There are extreme weather contingencies, so stay tuned.)
If possible, an EA branded polo or tshirt would be great – especially if you have one of our green or purple ones. We have a limited number of purple tees available, so sing out to Jane Woolard or Nadine Cousins if you want to borrow/have one for the march.
Bring: Water for yourself to stay hydrated. And it goes without saying that your sparkly energy is a must!
Health and Safety Information
The march is along closed streets with police presence to ensure participant safety. Ian Johnson oval is unshaded, though there are nearby trees and areas with shading. The walk down Fitzroy Street is unshaded and the temperature along the street may be higher than the forecast temperature. Please consider your ability to cope with heat once the forecast is available for the day.
Remember: you can put this time towards your volunteer leave as well. In total you'd be looking at around 2-3 hours including the march, but you can always stay on separately to enjoy the rest of the day and into the night for you and your friends.
Bookings close on Wednesday 28th Jan at 4.00pm
