Western Australia is home to hundreds of native bee species - many of which live right here in our Banksia and Tuart Woodlands. At this special event, renowned native bee scientist Dr Kit Prendergast will introduce you to these fascinating pollinators, the vital role they play in healthy ecosystems, and what we can all do to help protect them.

Dr Kit Prendergast (aka The Bee Babette) is WA’s leading native bee scientist. Her research has uncovered a rich diversity of native bees across the Swan Coastal Plain and practical ways to conserve them. Kit has published over 70 scientific articles, is the author of Creating a Haven for Native Bees, and is known for making science engaging, accessible and fun.
