From grotty pubs to global cult status, Perth’s alternative music scene of the 70s and 80s gave rise to some truly legendary music.
Learn how Perth’s original music scene transcended the city’s isolation with stories from the people who were part of it.
Panellists for this session are:
Jill Birt – best known as a member of renowned West Australian band The Triffids, who she performed with from 1983 to 1990.
Greg Dear – singer and songwriter whose bands The Holy Rollers and The Beautiful Losers were much beloved in Perth’s indie rock scene.
Neil Fernandes – guitarist and songwriter for Cheap Nasties as well as cult new wave power pop band Manikins.
This event is suitable for ages 15 plus.
