Melanie Oxley and Chris Abrahams perform on the afternoon of Sunday March 15 at the Bowlo on Dangar Island.For almost four decades, Melanie and Chris have been writing and performing their unique songs
to audiences across Australia. This is a rare chance to see them in their home city.
Last year the duo released their seventh album Moment of Truth; this performance will showcase
the songs from the record, as well as material from their deep back catalog.
Acclaimed novelist Charlotte Wood wrote of their album Jerusalem Bay recently in the Good
Weekend saying:
"There could be no better soundtrack to the dreaming zone than Oxley and Abrahams
lush, membranous album, melodically as tendrilled as the inlets and bays, rhythmic as the
shifting currents, lyrically dense as the thick, secretive bush."
Joining them on the day will be the brilliant Jonathan Zwartz on double bass.
Expect to hear one of Australia’s great vocalists performing with two of Australia’s most
celebrated instrumentalists in an intimate afternoon of mysterious, emotion-filled songs.
This show will be staged as an intimate indoor show with a limited capacity.
